Osaka-Kansai Expo opens April 13, 2025.

I visited the Sumitomo Pavilion, a must-see right after entering the East Gate!

This video thoroughly introduces the flow, highlights, and tips for experiencing Sumitomo Pavilion's main attraction, "UNKNOWN FOREST: A Story of Life That Nobody Knows" ✨

🪔 Embark on an adventure through the forest with a lantern.

First, you receive a mysterious lantern that allows you to weave your own "story of life."

This lantern speaks to you, vibrates, lights up... the effects are incredible!

Walking through the pitch-black forest, you encounter strange creatures and plants, experiencing the mysteries of nature.

Glowing mushrooms, animal footprints, dragonflies flying in the sky... "Life" appears one after another wherever you hold up the lantern.

Everything you encounter in the forest is accumulated as a story within the lantern.

🦉 Don't miss it! Rare creatures appear!?

According to the pavilion staff, **"Finding a rhinoceros beetle is lucky!"**

You might also encounter other hidden creatures, such as owls and baby foxes…

There are plenty of reasons here to make you want to experience it again!

🌳 An encounter with the Mother Tree. And then, the moving climax…
At the end of the adventure, you entrust the stories of life accumulated in the lanterns to the "Mother Tree."
After this mystical ceremony, what awaits you next is—
A gigantic performing theater, 7.5m high and 20m wide!

The breathtaking show, a fusion of LEDs, video, music, and dance, is truly "living nature" itself.

With wind and mist drifting about, the experience of feeling the story with your whole body provides a unique and immersive experience.

🌱 After the experience, participate in "Seeds of the Future"!

The "Seeds of the Future" project, where children learn about and nurture the "forest" through tree-planting experiences and digital learning, is currently underway.

You can even track how the trees you plant grow over the long term via the web 🌲
It's truly an initiative where you can feel the "baton of life passing on to the future."

🛍️ Don't miss the goods corner!

• Lantern-shaped lights (perfect for relaxing at home)

• Wooden postcards (ready to mail!)

• Bio-indigo x Kaihara denim collaboration goods, etc.

There are plenty of items you can only buy here!

⏱ Estimated time required
• Experience area: 15-20 minutes
• Performing theater: approximately 15 minutes
• Allow 40-60 minutes including exhibition viewing and goods purchase!

👶 For those with small children

Due to the dark areas and the weight of the lanterns, it might be a little difficult for preschool children…?

For elementary school students and older, this is sure to make them say, "I want to go again!" ✨

📍 Summary: A pavilion where you can experience the importance of nature and life with all your senses
The Sumitomo Pavilion offers one of the most immersive experiences at the Expo.

Experience this unique time, feeling the breath of the forest and connecting with life through "lanterns."
