□JUNGLIA OKINAWA Dinosaur Attraction: DINOSAUR SAFARI
On Friday, July 25, 2025, a new theme park called JUNGLIA OKINAWA opened in northern Okinawa.
Set across a vast 60-hectare site, the park offers a wide range of attractions.
This article introduces DINOSAUR SAFARI, the dinosaur attraction that has generated the most buzz.
It should also be helpful for anyone thinking about visiting with children who love dinosaurs.

□DINOSAUR SAFARI
This is probably the park’s signature attraction and its best-known experience.
Each vehicle holds up to 11 guests. The experience lasts about 17 minutes including the preshow, and guests must be at least 4 years old and 95 cm tall.
Although the minimum age is 4, the ride shakes so violently that even adults may feel as though they could be thrown from the vehicle. It is an extremely intense attraction, so children need special care.
The fear does not come from drops or spinning. Instead, the jeep jolts hard through S-curves, steep slopes, and other rugged terrain.
The name DINOSAUR SAFARI may make you imagine a familiar story in which carnivorous dinosaurs suddenly run wild during a tour to see them—but this attraction is completely different!
From the very beginning, guests take part as a reinforcement team helping with a mission.
The Ancient Life Restoration Research Institute studies the revival and care of various dinosaurs. An emergency occurred several hours earlier, and our reinforcement team has been called in to assist.
A dangerous creature has gone out of control, destroyed an underground facility, and escaped.
Because we are a support unit rather than a capture team, we board a special vehicle to check whether the herbivores living in the savanna area have been affected.
The tension starts before you even get into the vehicle, and your heart is sure to be racing.
The vehicle picks up a surprising amount of speed as soon as you board.
In an instant, you are deep in a jungle zone.
Do not let your guard down just because this is the herbivore area.
You can encounter 14 dinosaurs in this section.
The attraction features 18 dinosaurs in total, so anyone hoping to spot them all should be sure to keep count.
The ride is so intense that it can be difficult to count. Finding every dinosaur on your first attempt would be quite an achievement.
You will encounter Triceratops, Ankylosaurus, Brachiosaurus, and other dinosaurs bred at this facility. Be sure to look for the sleeping Triceratops—it is especially adorable!
When the Brachiosaurus raises its head, it stands about 20 meters tall—roughly the height of a five-story building.
Your vehicle drives right between its legs and beneath its belly.
You make it through safely, but then… something unexpected happens. (Laughs)
You might suddenly feel a little cooler for a moment…
Be sure to discover what happens for yourself at the park!
After that, you get out of the vehicle and head to a shelter for an emergency evacuation.
There, you suddenly come face-to-face with a T. rex.
Realizing that the area is unsafe, everyone returns to the vehicle—but then one of the crew members is attacked by the T. rex…
From this point, the driving becomes even more intense as the vehicle races to escape the approaching T. rex.
Before you know it, the vehicle has entered the river, making the experience feel incredibly real.
Then, after the T. rex catches up with us, we see…
Be sure to witness the final scene with your own eyes!
At the end, you can see a captured T. rex, although it is not the same one that attacked us.
There is also time to take a photo with it.
However, there is no way the attraction would end quite that simply.
Be careful not to get attacked at the very end!
□Tips for the Experience
All video recording and photography are prohibited throughout the experience, starting with the preshow.
Depending on your seat, you may get completely soaked. Chargers and other electronic devices could be ruined in an instant even when stored inside a bag, so waterproof and secure your belongings before boarding.
You will not necessarily get wet because conditions such as wind direction can affect the splash, but when the water does hit, it can be an enormous amount. Take precautions.
Seats on the right-hand side in the direction of travel generally offer a better chance of seeing more dinosaurs.
However, guests in the right-hand seats need to twist their bodies to look at the scenery on that side.
Personally, I recommend the rear seats. They offer a wide view behind the vehicle, making it easier to watch dinosaurs recede into the distance and to spot approaching dinosaurs early.
