A new food park, Yodogawa Tsutsumi-ichi Minamo Juso, held its grand opening on August 8, 2026, near Hankyu Juso Station in Osaka’s Yodogawa Ward.
Yodogawa Tsutsumi-ichi Minamo Juso is a street-stall area created along the Yodogawa riverbank. Its 22 distinctive vendors serve everything from Osaka specialties to international dishes and sweets.
Juso has long been known as a food town lined with old-school restaurants, so what kinds of flavors can you find at the newly opened Minamo Juso?
This time, I sampled my way through eight vendors that personally caught my attention!
I’ll introduce each shop’s dishes in detail, along with the flavors and highlights I experienced firsthand.

Tonosama no Chashitsu

Tonosama no Chashitsu

Our first stop was Tonosama no Chashitsu.
What caught my eye here was a slightly unusual item called “Drinkable Warabi Mochi.”
“What is it like to drink warabi mochi!?” I wondered, so I gave it a try.

It comes in two layers, so I recommend taking a photo before mixing and drinking it.
Drinks like this are often very sweet, but this one is not overly sweet and goes down easily.

The sensation of drinking warabi mochi feels completely new, and it is both fun and delicious. I definitely recommend giving it a try.
The price is $4.38 including tax.

Sumibiyaki Tori Kakashi

This time, I tried seseri (chicken neck meat). It is $3.13 including tax.

The shop uses chicken butchered that morning, so you can enjoy fresh, flavorful yakitori.
The portions are generous for the price, and I recommend ordering several cuts and sharing them.

Katsuo Shokudo

I ordered the salt-seared bonito.

The seven-item assortment is $10.86 including tax.

Although it is called a seven-item assortment, six varieties were served that day.

From the very first bite, it was so delicious that I actually said “Wow, this is good!” out loud.

Apparently, the source of the bonito changes from day to day, and it made me want to come back and taste the differences.

I especially recommend the versions with egg-yolk sauce and rock salt.

Kushikatsu Maou

Kushikatsu Maou

For something hearty, the Yanbaru Agu pork assortment caught my attention. It is $8.13 including tax.

This dish uses Yanbaru Agu, a premium pork brand from Okinawa.

The assortment includes four cuts: pork belly, loin, shoulder loin, and pork jowl, and it is great to be able to sample them together.
The meat is nicely thick and has a satisfying chew, so you can really appreciate each cut’s flavor.

Gyoza & Oden Gon-chan

Gyoza & Oden Gon-chan

When it comes to street-stall food, gyoza is simply a must!

I tried the pan-fried gyoza. It is $2.63 including tax.
A notable feature is that all of the gyoza ingredients are sourced in Japan.

I am personally pretty particular about gyoza, but this is one dish I would gladly recommend!!
The quality makes the price feel completely justified—in fact, I even thought it was a bargain.

Yakiniku Yuzu-chan

Meat lovers will want to check out the beef tongue and skirt steak at Yakiniku Yuzu-chan. Each is $6.25 including tax.

True to the Yuzu-chan name, yuzu citrus is used in each menu item.
The sauce is especially delicious and brings out the savory flavor of the meat.

Another seafood spot worth watching is Sushi Show.
The name itself is intriguing, and the dish also makes a strong visual impression.

Sushi Show eel

Two kinds of eel were available that day, priced at $3.13 including tax per piece.
You can savor thick, meaty eel, so this one is highly recommended♪

Octopus Shabu-Shabu & Charcoal Grill / Saeki

Octopus Shabu-Shabu & Charcoal Grill / Saeki

Our final stop was Saeki for octopus shabu-shabu!

Saeki octopus shabu-shabu

It unexpectedly starts with searing a whole raw octopus, and I was thrilled by its sheer size.
Watching the process feels like a performance, so it is exciting even before you take a bite♪

If your timing is right, you may get to see it, so be sure to enjoy the cooking process too!

Then it is finally time for the shabu-shabu. It looks so fresh that you can tell it is going to be delicious before even tasting it♪

The moment I took my first bite, I could taste the octopus’s natural sweetness. Of everything I tried this time, this was the most surprisingly delicious.
The shop is at the very end of the row, but I think it is absolutely worth walking all the way over.

What Did We Think After Eating Our Way Around Minamo Juso’s 22 Vendors?

Minamo Juso

Minamo Juso

I was only able to try 8 of the 22 vendors, but many of them already operate shops elsewhere, so if a place catches your eye—or you discover a favorite here—it could be fun to visit its regular location too.

All eight vendors I tried have established businesses, and each had its own personality, making for a reassuring dining experience.

This is a permanent food park rather than a limited-time event, so another part of the fun will be seeing how the menus continue to change.
Because you can enjoy it year-round by the river, I can imagine it becoming a wonderful spot where friends naturally gather after work.

Exchange rate used for price conversions: US$1 = ¥160.
