The event runs from Saturday, May 30, 2026, through Monday, January 11, 2027. As part of Universal Cool Japan 2026, several experiences will be offered throughout the park.
Story Walk | Step Into the Story on Foot
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Story Walk — Journey of Memories is a walk-through attraction that guests explore on foot.
The setting is the magical city of Äußerst. Visiting as travelers, guests meet Frieren, Fern, and Stark and are guided to the library of the Continental Magic Association.
There, a spell that lets people relive the past is activated.
Memories from the Hero Party’s journey appear one after another before your eyes, allowing you to relive memorable scenes such as the Era Meteor Shower, Frieren’s meeting with Fern, battles against demons, and the scenery surrounding Himmel’s statue and the Blue-Moon Weed.
Along with giant screens, projection mapping, lighting, and sound effects, physical props are recreated, and there is also an interactive sequence in which guests cast magic themselves.
The defining feature is that you do not merely watch—you feel as though you are inside the story.

Of course, being in the same space as Frieren and the others was moving. There were so many moments that nearly brought me to tears—the instant I felt the real distance to the first rock Fern blasted through, and the moment Frieren showed us the spell that creates a beautiful field of flowers! I stepped into Frieren’s world, and my eyes, ears, and all five senses were delighted.

From the moment I entered the attraction, I was surrounded by streets and scenery I had seen in the anime. In the scene where we meet Frieren and the others, Stark was the same height as us, and I felt, “He’s right there! We’re living alongside Frieren and her companions!” Himmel’s statue and the flower-field spell were both so beautiful that all I could do was gasp in amazement…I nearly cried.

Weekday Timed-Entry Ticket Distribution Status and End Times
On many weekdays, timed-entry ticket distribution ends partway through the day, and free entry without a ticket begins about one to two hours later.
However, once summer vacation events begin in July, more days may see timed-entry ticket distribution end with no free-entry period and lottery tickets distributed instead.

Story Ride | A Thrilling Flight with the Party
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End × Story Ride — Journey by Carriage with a Bird Monster is a coaster experience that begins when you board the same carriage as Frieren and her companions.
During the journey, Fern scolds a sleep-deprived Frieren while Stark greets those around him. Amid the calm atmosphere, the carriage suddenly rises into the air. A bird monster attacks, turning the trip into a thrilling aerial adventure.
With character voices sounding right beside your ears, the appeal goes beyond a simple thrill ride—you strongly feel as though you are traveling with the party.

While feeling the coaster’s speed, I imagined, “So this is what’s happening while we’re fighting the bird monster,” and fully enjoyed how the ride moved in sync with the story.

It made me feel, “There are still things this fun in the world!” Frieren and the others speak to you, and at the same time you hear YOASOBI’s “Yūsha,” the opening theme from Season 1 of the TV anime. It’s irresistible for fans! I wanted to experience it two or three times.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Attraction Review
I thought people who know Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End from the anime or manga might feel quite differently from those who know nothing about it.
The first room does not explain Frieren’s world or introduce the characters. Instead, you hear the voices of townspeople that build anticipation for guests who already know the series.
You move leisurely through the rooms, much like Frieren’s journey. The pace feels clearly different from the USJ attractions and shows you may have just experienced.
The operation also differs from other USJ show attractions, where you can see the previous group of adventurers moving ahead.
Sound leaks in from the neighboring scene.
There are remnants of the Monster Hunter building layout.
Some guests may find these details distracting.
Even so,
famous scenes from Frieren are projected onto a giant screen,
you stand in the very place from the episode about Himmel’s statue,
and experience the wonder of a spell that makes flowers bloom.
That alone was immersive enough to make me feel like crying.
At the final photo spot, photography is allowed and you can take plenty of commemorative pictures, so enjoy it as though you have entered Frieren’s world.
I recommend it to anyone who loves Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End.
Restaurant of Memories | Taste the Story
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End — Restaurant of Memories is an experiential restaurant themed after a town restaurant from the series’ world. Stained-glass-style decorations depicting memories from the journey fill the interior, making the space itself part of the story.

The restaurant interior was wonderful down to the smallest details. I found myself wondering whether one decoration was Fern’s hair ornament, or whether a pumpkin had been worked on with magic.

Unlike an Express Pass, it is free for guests who have entered USJ.
Can one group representative enter USJ and obtain timed-entry tickets for the other members?
No.
admission ticket used to enter USJ is required for each person obtaining a timed-entry ticket.
If your friends will enter USJ later, it is recommended that you obtain all the timed-entry tickets together after everyone has entered.

While Frieren and Fern are away for the First-Class Mage Exam, Fern becomes angry with Stark for disrupting his daily routine by staying up late and sleeping until evening. To cheer her up, they visit BELL, a restaurant Frieren found delicious 80 years earlier and that remains popular as the best restaurant in Äußerst.
They order a huge amount of steak all at once!
The story explains that Frieren began eating as much as she wanted whenever she had the chance because many foods she planned to eat again were gone forever by the time she returned.

Genau’s Diagoldnacht, the spell used by the First-Class Mage to control black-gold wings! It looked incredibly cool in the anime too!
Himmel Voice Actor Nobuhiko Okamoto’s Favorite Spell
The spell I most want to say aloud is Aura’s Auserlese, the obedience spell used by one of the Seven Sages of Destruction who serve directly under the Demon King, and it also appears in this attraction. As for favorites, I like silly spells that make you chuckle, such as one that completely removes stains from clothing or one that turns red apples into green apples.
