This hands-on exhibition brings together the fun of Ghibli Park in Nagakute, Aichi Prefecture, in an experience where adults and children alike can “look, touch, explore, and have fun.” The Osaka exhibition, the first stop on a new nationwide tour, features Mini Ghibli Park, which visitors walk through like a giant board game; two special exhibitions popular at Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse; and a giant Haku dragon unveiled here for the first time.

The New Ghibli Park Exhibition Is Designed for Play, Not Just Displays
The Ghibli Park and Ghibli Exhibition, which toured Japan from 2022 to 2025, focused on the behind-the-scenes story of Ghibli Park’s creation, production materials, and prototypes.
The newly launched Ghibli Park Exhibition puts the experience first. Many displays are completed through visitor participation, whether by touching an exhibit, sitting in a chair, operating a game, or stepping into a famous scene from a film.
Near the entrance, Yubaba and the Kashira heads from Spirited Away welcome visitors. The desk in front of them and the surrounding props are intricately made, so do not look only at Yubaba and move on too quickly.
The Highlight: Mini Ghibli Park, Open to Adults Too
A large portion of the venue is devoted to Mini Ghibli Park.
It is inspired by Children’s Town, the play area for elementary-school-age children and younger at Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse, but at the Osaka exhibition adults can also go inside and play.
A giant board game modeled after a Ghibli Park poster covers the floor. Visitors can imagine themselves as game pieces while exploring buildings and scenery inspired by the five areas, along with retro Showa-era games.
Benches where you can hug a giant fried shrimp, an izakaya booth that seats four, the Tama-no-yu bathhouse, and a photo spot that makes it look as though you are bathing with Ootori-sama are just some of the hands-on features.
A model of Tsutenkaku, exclusive to the Osaka venue, is also built into the streetscape. Rather than focusing only on the largest exhibits, look at the signs, rooftops, and even the game spaces on the floor to discover more details.

Beyond Mini Ghibli Park are two special exhibitions that were popular at Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse.
The expanded and revised edition of “Drawing Food.” explores why meals in Studio Ghibli films look so delicious through storyboards, background art, original drawings, and three-dimensional models.
Fans will want to inspect details such as the fried-egg toast and Dola’s ham from Castle in the Sky, the bacon and eggs from Howl’s Moving Castle, the food stalls from Spirited Away, and the Kusakabe family home from My Neighbor Totoro.
At the Ghibli Immersive Scene Exhibition, visitors can step into scenes from the films and take photos as though they were the characters. In Osaka, the train over the sea also appears, with a seat next to No-Face.
The Newly Unveiled Giant Haku Dragon Is the Exhibition Finale
Near the end of the exhibition, a massive three-dimensional model of Haku in dragon form from Spirited Away appears.
Unveiled for the first time at this exhibition, it can be viewed up close as it flies above clouds under a blue night sky. After seeing the whole figure from a distance, move closer to appreciate the carefully crafted expression, whiskers, scales, and legs.
When taking photos, shoot the full body and close-up details separately to better convey the exhibit’s scale. Decide on your preferred angle in advance so you do not block the walkway.

Immediately beyond the exit, the wall is lined with large visuals combining characters and scenes from Studio Ghibli films.
Multiple films blend together in each image, creating a composition that feels like a look back at the exhibits you have just explored.

The amount of time needed for this exhibition varies greatly depending on whether you only read the materials or try every game and photo opportunity.
Groups in particular need extra time to take turns taking photos. Avoid packing another commitment immediately after your visit, and leave enough time before you plan to exit the venue.

Travelers hoping to experience the exhibition early in Osaka should not limit themselves to the second half of summer vacation or the end of the run; check available timed tickets and choose a visit date.
