Records that convert wait times into points 82 days / 181 days

Although we used multiple wait-time records calculated with different methods, the evaluation results did not vary significantly.

The six-level crowd forecast matched the actual category on 45.3% to 49.2% of days.

When days with an exact match and days within one level were combined, 171 of the 181 days qualified, for a rate of 94.5%.

How the Crowd Forecast Was Evaluated

This evaluation used publicly available historical attraction wait-time records.

The way wait times are recorded and crowd levels are categorized varies by data source. We therefore converted each set of actual results into Happyell’s six levels: Very Quiet, Light, Moderate, Crowded, Very Crowded, and Extremely Crowded.

Actual Results Showing Average Wait Times from A to F

Records published with crowd rankings from A to F based on average wait times were matched to Happyell’s six levels as follows.

Actual Rank Happyell Crowd Category
A Very Quiet
B Light
C Moderate
D Crowded

Actual Results That Convert Wait Times into Points

Records that express attraction wait times as points were converted into Happyell’s six levels using the following criteria.

Actual Points Happyell Crowd Category
20–29 pt Very Quiet
30–44 pt Light
45–54 pt Moderate
55–69 pt Crowded
70–89 pt Very Crowded
90–100 pt Extremely Crowded

Because the forecast data saved before each park visit date was not audited by a third party, these figures are not an official audited accuracy rate.

Summary of the USJ Crowd Forecast Evaluation

We evaluated Happyell’s crowd forecasts for 181 days from January through June 2026 using publicly available historical wait-time records.

The six-level crowd forecast matched the actual category on 45.3% to 49.2% of days.

When exact matches and results within one level were combined, 171 of the 181 days qualified, for a rate of 94.5%.

Happyell’s forecasts tended to rate conditions as slightly more crowded than the actual wait-time data indicated.

However, attraction wait times alone cannot fully represent overall crowd conditions throughout the park, including parades, shows, restaurants, and walkways.

In 2026, fewer attractions have been operating, while parades and shows have played a larger role.

As a result, even on days when attraction wait times were shorter than forecast, the park as a whole may still have been as crowded as predicted.
