□Bay Resort Hotel Naruto Kaigetsu Stay Review
This time, I stayed at “Bay Resort Hotel Naruto Kaigetsu”, a hotel standing right in front of the sea in Naruto, Tokushima!

※This article introduces a stay provided through an invitation extended to us as media creators (influencers).
A luxurious location where you can enjoy the sea, whirlpools, and bridge all at once.
Plus, there are sea bream and meat kaiseki dinners.
The hot spring overlooks the Ōnaruto Bridge and features a large glass-walled panoramic bath.
Here are my honest impressions from the stay!

□Spectacular Lobby Views at Bay Resort Hotel Naruto Kaigetsu

As soon as you enter the building, the view of the Ōnaruto Bridge opens up right in front of you.
You can see it beyond the spacious lobby.
◇View from the Naruto Kaigetsu Lobby|Panoramic Views of the Naruto Strait and Whirlpools

Awaji Island looks close, and the Ōnaruto Bridge is directly in front of you.
The area around the bridge is where the Naruto whirlpools form.
The best viewing time occurred during our stay, so I watched the sea closely.
When the whirlpools are not forming, the surface is extremely calm.
As the whirlpool time approaches, however, you can see even from a distance that huge volumes of seawater are moving.
On days with a large tidal range, the difference in sea level can reach 1.5 meters, so an enormous amount of water flows through the strait.
That alone is an impressive sight.

At the prime viewing time, whitecaps were visible near the center of the bridge that day.
However, the whirlpools are a little too far away to see clearly from the lobby…
The Ōnaruto Bridge is about 1,600 meters long, and because the whirlpools form near its center, you cannot tell whether the water is actually swirling.

When I zoomed in with my camera, though, some parts of the sea appeared raised while others looked sunken.
Conclusion: For the best whirlpool experience, I recommend viewing them from directly above at Uzu no Michi on the Ōnaruto Bridge, or from a whirlpool sightseeing boat.
◇A Japanese-Style Oceanfront Room! Open the Shoji to a Spectacular View

All Japanese-style rooms at Naruto Kaigetsu face the ocean.
When you enter the room, you can see the Ōnaruto Bridge beyond the window.
The lobby is on the first floor, while our room was on the fifth floor, so the expressway felt even closer.
※The hotel has seven floors.

You can also sit in a chair on the enclosed veranda and relax while taking in the spectacular view.
◇Choose a Colorful Yukata and Enjoy Complimentary Drinks

Colorful yukata were available to borrow free of charge.
There were options for women and children.

Put on a colorful yukata and enjoy your meal and the rest of your stay.

There is a complimentary drink corner in the lobby.
Unlike a welcome drink limited to check-in time, the drinks were available at any time during the stay.
Coffee, tea, and juice were offered.
□Dinner at Naruto Kaigetsu! A Hands-On Kaiseki Dining Report
At Naruto Kaigetsu, you can choose between in-room dining in your guest room and dining in a restaurant (banquet hall).
However, in-room dining offers a wider selection of kaiseki menus.
This time, I had the “Awa Beef Indulgence Kaiseki,” which is normally served only with in-room dining.
For the photo shoot, another ambassador traveling with us tried the newly renewed Whirlpool Kaiseki, updated in June 2025 and available both in the restaurant and as in-room dining.
※Normally, guests in the same party cannot each order a different menu.
◇A Blissful Awa Beef Feast: Awa Beef Indulgence Kaiseki Review

Although the menu centers on meat, it is a kaiseki meal, so not every dish is placed on the table at the beginning.

First came the “Awa Beef namero.”
I had never tried beef prepared as namero before, so it felt completely new. Its rich savory flavor was delicious.

After enjoying the Awa Beef shabu-shabu and several meat dishes in a row,
we refreshed our palates with sliced sea bream sashimi.

The final main dish was rump cap steak!!
You can grill it at your own pace.

To finish, we enjoyed an indulgent rice dish topped with seasoned ground beef and salmon roe!!

We were told that the ground beef and salmon roe could either be placed over rice in a bowl or mixed directly into the pot of rice, so I chose to add them to the pot and mix everything together.

I did not plate it especially well, but it felt like making my own rice bowl, which was fun.

Dessert was warabi mochi and a small sponge cake.
It was a very generous kaiseki meal, and I was completely full♪

Breakfast with a beautiful view of the Naruto Strait!!

and reading it as you eat may make everything taste even better.
□Bay Resort Hotel Naruto Kaigetsu: Large Public Bath and Hot Spring Report

The large public bath at this hot-spring inn!! I used it twice, once at night and once in the morning.
The men’s and women’s baths do not switch.
※We received special permission to take photos after operating hours. Photography in the baths is normally prohibited.
In the men’s bath, you can soak in the hot spring while enjoying views of the Ōnaruto Bridge and Naruto Strait.
The sauna is fairly hot, and after working up a sweat, you can cool down and reset in the cold-water bath.
The women’s bath has screening plants and other features, allowing guests to bathe without worrying about being seen from outside.
Neither bath is especially large, but the hotel does not have many rooms, so there are relatively few guests.
Timing may also have helped, but it was quiet during my visit, and I was able to enjoy a comfortable soak.
