The official name is WaterWorld: Discover U!!! Version. It runs from Monday, June 29 through Monday, August 31, 2026, with more water effects and upgraded jet ski action.

This show is a great match for anyone who wants to get drenched and join the excitement during a summer visit to USJ. On the other hand, visitors who do not want to spend the day in wet clothes or cannot waterproof their smartphone or camera should choose their seats and prepare their belongings carefully.

This report covers the seat I used, how wet I got, crowd conditions, and the items I was glad I brought. It also explains exactly how much preparation you need, something that can be hard to judge from photos and videos alone, so you will know what to do on site.

Extreme Splash Zone

WaterWorld 2026 Extreme Splash Zone
The Extreme Splash Zone, where you will get completely soaked, is located in the front-center rows.

Sit here and you will be as wet as if you jumped into a pool fully clothed—right down to your socks and underwear.
You absolutely will get soaked.

And it does not happen just once or twice.
You will get drenched again and again.

In return, you get an experience that the regular version cannot offer.

You will probably need to line up early if you want one of these seats.

Splash Zone

In the regular show, people toward the back of this section often get only a little wet, depending on the wind.

However, near the center during Discover U!!! Version, you are guaranteed to get wet.

The left and right sides of the Splash Zone also get much wetter than usual.

Regular seats may also get wet

When every Splash Zone seat is getting wet, nearby regular seats may be splashed as well.
You should not be drenched, but put cameras and other items that must stay dry inside your bag.

What It Was Like to Experience the Soaking-Wet Version

About 15 minutes before the show begins, the sheriffs appear and start explaining just how wet the Extreme Splash Zone and Splash Zone will get.

Just when you think the explanation is over, they demonstrate by actually spraying guests with water.

Because this happens before the show, even people who are still trying to find their seats can get thoroughly soaked.

Once you enter the WaterWorld venue, do not let your guard down.

The preshow begins—with water from behind

Nick spraying water

As usual, the sheriffs spray guests when the crowd is not cheering loudly enough.

I was sitting in the very back row of the Splash Zone and thought I probably did not need to worry about getting wet—then water came flying from behind me.

There were team members standing in the rear aisle with buckets.

They began splashing water as they walked down the aisle.

A giant bucket appears

Then a huge bucket arrived on a cart.

The audience was divided into sections for a contest, raising fists and shouting on the sheriff’s signal.

Guests in the losing section who were seated in the Extreme Splash Zone were told to come forward and be doused with the giant bucket.

After the contest, they lined up and were thoroughly soaked with buckets and more.

WaterWorld begins as usual

When Deacon’s jet skis race across the water, huge sprays of water fly into the audience.

A large amount of water also comes from Deacon’s boat.

During the regular show, sitting toward the back of the Splash Zone usually meant I barely got wet.
Depending on the wind direction and strength, you may still get a little wet.

Even more water after the show ends

After the show, the boat leaves the performance area and the remaining jet skis would normally exit right away as well.
In Discover U!!! Version, however, they turn toward the guests and spray them with all their might.

Again and again!

The hero, Mariner, even sprays the audience too!

At this point, guests from any seating section can move to the very front, so anyone can get completely soaked from head to toe.

So, How Wet Did We Actually Get?

People seated near the front of the Splash Zone were already soaked from head to toe during the preshow, before the main performance began.
Several guests had full buckets poured over their heads, so their clothes were likely soaked all the way through to their underwear.

I was seated toward the back of the Splash Zone and only my top and pants got wet.
The temperature that day was 30°C, warm for early summer, and the water kept me cool while I enjoyed the show.

What I Was Glad I Brought—and What I Needed

A large plastic bag or trash bag

Your bag can get soaked too, so seal it completely inside a plastic bag.

Towel

A towel is helpful if not only your face and arms but also your hair and neck get wet. It may seem that things dry quickly in summer, but entering an indoor attraction while still wet can leave you cold in the air conditioning.

A change of clothes or spare socks

If you plan to be drenched from head to toe, prepare not only an extra top but spare socks as well. Even after your clothes dry, wet shoes and socks can remain uncomfortable while walking around the park.

Is the Soaking-Wet Version of WaterWorld Worth It?

It is recommended for people who want getting drenched to be part of their summer USJ experience, as well as those who have seen the regular show and want to feel the difference in the limited-time effects.

On the other hand, carefully choose your seats and showtime if you cannot bring a change of clothes, dislike walking for hours in wet clothes and shoes, or are visiting with a small child who is sensitive to loud noises or explosions.

WaterWorld is powerful even when you simply sit and watch, but in this limited-time version, the uncertainty of where the next splash will come from and how deeply the audience will be drawn into the action becomes part of the experience.

This is a limited-time version that truly captures the feeling of summer, so be sure to experience it.
